National Lottery Heritage Fund: Funding Strategy Launch Film

The Challenge

Following a brand overhaul, the National Lottery Heritage Fund needed a way to announce their new name, their new look, and their new five-year funding strategy. We worked on an animation to publicise how they will continue their incredible work across the UK in the years ahead, helping to transform heritage sites for new uses.

The Solution

We developed a fresh, friendly illustration style to work within the client’s new brand guidelines. The gentle, pastel colour palette helped us shape playful graphics that put people and places at the heart of NLHF’s work. The characters, complete with oversized limbs and flamboyant hairdos, made for engaging narrators. And for some light relief, we threw in a heritage mascot – Gary the Hedgehog – who pops up throughout the story!

The Results

The animation debuted at a National Lottery event launching the NLHF rebrand and funding strategy. It also went live on Twitter, and was met so positively that we were asked to develop a second version for the Welsh-language audience, featuring a voiceover in Welsh and a logo to match.
